After letting dot-squad go defunct from about mid 2007 and constantly making fake plans to revamp it, i gave up because i could never force myself to make the time to do it. Enter wonderful WordPress. After Andy and Ann set theirs up with ease, i got off my high-horse and just installed the thing instead of trying to re-make my own again. The only problem is now I’ve “lost” my old posts for the time being. I could always port them over but that takes time, and time is precious.
Just a few notes about the new blog, I love the “themes” portion of it. WordPress allows me to make themes and switch between them, which is a total plus because doing it manually before was annoying. That isn’t to say writing the theme was easy, I’m not a CSS genius, but I made the horrid mistake of trying to use the default theme’s style sheet as a guideline. What a fucking failure. The process smoothed along nicely after i junked it and fixed a few cross browser fuckups that these browser providers really need to agree on. I mean seriously, you shits, could you invite each other over for tea and peni so you can come up with a standard way for interpreting padding/margins/borders/vertical-alignment for divs (and possibly tables.. I don’t know because I’ve gone and ditched tables this time around). This shit is so asinine.
On the plus side, the plugins kick ass. Yay for akismet!
Lastly, i like how my blog looks now. The colour scheme is good on my eyes, or at least on my home monitor it is haha, i apologize for any of you colourblind folk, or art-nazi’s. Taste my ass. (read: because if you ate it, i woudln’t have one anymore.. right, Ann?)
Anyhow, let me know what you think of how it looks so far, i have a few more things that i plan to add, but i really wanted this to be up for the time being. Hoorah internet! Your faithful cronie is back!
