Boyz II Men concert was mega. Considering it was a few days ago now, it’s still fresh in my head. Obviously, the group isn’t the exact same as I remembered them back in the day when their songs shot arrows through the hearts of many, but they are magic live. Still, if the missing member Michael didn’t have some disabling sickness, his part in the group would be the only thing that would make them better.
As for the concert venue itself, it was sweet. They were so close, and considering the price we paid per ticket was only 50 bux and to be able to be close enough to have their sweat fly off their nose and into our faces was wonderbar. At first the crowd was a little shy, and I felt that everyone wasn’t grooving the way they should considering that everyone there, should have only been there because they’re fans of them.. and since they’re older, its not like you’re there just cause you wanna hear some new music.
I was all about it-bout-it from the get go. Highlight of the night for me was when 2 lovers went up to the front to the area between the stage and the front-floor seats to dance and as the securitors tried to remove them, Shawn told him to back off and let them be. Why was that my favourite moment? Because people who goober out and show public displays of affection allow me to get my rocks off?? No. It’s because that sparked a rush of about 50 people to run meander to the front of the stage to be within arms reach of the group while they sang. And yes, Luke, Tania and I went up too. They almost didn’t want to, but I was a persuasive fanboy.
Spent the rest of the performance up front groovin like nobody (but a few hundred other people behind me) was watching.
In summary
- Songs: awesome.
- Performances: double awesome.
- River Rock’s sound quality: deaf guy was obviously doing the sound check.. it fixed itself after we got up front.
- List of innapropriate actions I committed:
- body waves and head bobbing
- roof raising and/or air wall banging with my hands.. yes, yes y’all. to the beat-chy’all
- underwear throwing. (read: alright, i didn’t. but only because wanted to see the encore.)
Edit: The dance mooves for their “new” song Tracks of My Tears is freakin’ hilarious and way beyond cool. I will know them by weeks end so i can be beyond cool too. Also, they aren’t fat anymore. Yay for the Eat Less, Move More diet!

haha yeah, when luke and i were talking before we found out they got thinner, we thought it was a ‘media spin’ that Michael had to leave the band due to his knee.. instead we thought nate and wanya ate him lol. there’s a youtube thing tho that is documenting their tour this time around and it said that he went banana’s and worked out this year.
