So I’ve bought myself yet another new toy.. a new more portable toy. Though the x200 is not nearly as sensitive as my mega cintiq, this one is awesome because i can work on it anywhere. The only huge pain in the ass is that the default Lenovo drivers didn’t support pressure sensitivity in non-windows applications which left my photoshop gibbled and i might as well have just used paint for everything. Luckily I found wacom’s hidden asshole drivers that finally worked. The ones that are “posted” on their site didn’t work.. i can only hope the ones i have aren’t some insane beta ones that will rape my new toy.

So I coloured the thing finally and when I finished, I looked quickly at the previous sketches that I’d done for the pic and couldn’t help but laugh lol. The end product will hopefully look good on a t-shirt.. now to pick a t-shirt. Since this is your Megab0t, Luke, you’re now the guy from Transformers with the most malleable bones in the world. How every bone in his body doesn’t break is unknown to me since he’s inside Bumblebee when the thing transforms.

I found this how-to on youtube that shows one guys method of drawing eyes so i decided to try it out. Then I went bonkers and drew everything. I’m stuck drawing line-figures in this style it seems. I need to branch out and try to draw something more naturalistic. Dah well.

Woo hoo! The first couple pages are done. It took me a week and a half to do it, but I’m happy with the way it turned out. Alright, now to see if we can keep this going. I changed up the style at least 3 times while making the first 2 pages.. this title page is basically one of my original RH drawings, but still one of my favourites.

About the comic itself: I really, really hope to finish chapter 1. It’d be so cool. Go, go Romo for putting his writing mind to use for me. Enjoy

So this is what i have so far for the first page first panel for the comic. I think I’ll try to stick with this style for the time being, kind of a half and half between using all ‘lines’ and some solid tones. Gawd. 4 more panels to go for page 1

A while ago, i tried to start up a comic with Romo about Lee Harden who’s a Private Eye, but that failed after the 6th page because it was so time consuming to think of how to draw each frame. But with some new resolve and a different game plan, we’re going to revive him.. and junk the old story line. We’ll still call it Noir Means Black, because that is the best title for the series still as far as doing it in the “film noir”genre and making fun of it goes, but we’re changing the name of our leading PI from Lee harden, to Richard Harden.

Why? To make the link from Private Eye (Dick) Lee Harden -> Dick Lee Harden -> Dick Harden much more blatent. I think I’ll revamp Harden’s image.. for 2 reasons: I forgot how to draw the character, and I’m ever changing the style of the comic.

Hopefully I’ll be done the first page soon.

So that’s the understatement of the century. Everything is different: noses, mouths, eyes. I even have to be careful how i shade you.. because it could come out looking like a freaking beard. I will try harder next time.
